Dear Niantic, thank you for bringing Pokemon Go to the smartphone play system. It's been a nice distraction for the Pokemon fan. But after you made your first million a day early months, it seems you started figuring out how to make greed play into your offerings to the players of Pokemon Go.
Greed? Yep... I watch you figure out that if you toss out more monsters than supplies that people will start spending more money to get those supplies to catch more monsters.
I watched you figure out that distributing special events netted you more money while players supply up for the events.
I watched you figure out that Community Days forced, sorry, coerce people to buy more storage and bag space.
I've watched you masterfully manipulate the FOMO attitude. (Fear of Missing Out)
Now I'm watching you distribute Research Rewards and Raid Bosses that are effectively getting more useless unless we spend an inordinate amount of stardust and candy, (AKA money) to rev them up to any kind of useful raid or combat status, that it's almost not worth even trying to catch the Research Rewards. I mean seriously, level 15 legendary rewards? Gimme a break.
As far as Raid Bosses go, come on! This last series of bosses, the Regi series, totally bores the crap out of players to the point of almost alienating players to five-star raids. The only reason people are participating in raids is for the swag or if they're EX raid gyms. Otherwise, we're getting bored with these level 20 bosses that again, will take us all kinds of stardust and candy (time and money) to power up to useful levels.
My god, give us something that triggers our imagination so we can waste more money on the game. Give us decent rewards that make it worth our time. No, not shiny versions that have no value what so ever, but rewards closer to level 30 so we're even tempted to power them up to useful levels.
Otherwise, you will keep releasing events, days and such that keep players off balance and keep chasing their ever-changing goals dictated by your events and 'specials.'
Just give us something worth while that doesn't force us to have to spend money or gobs of time to achieve one mere reward while getting distracted by four others.
Thanks for (not?) reading this.
